For those of you that are wondering who I am and why I am doing this, here it is. My name is Nick Lewis and I am a history graduate, though not a grad student. I will try to maintain proper sourcing, if only for my own pride, for those of you that are worried. Funny enough, I was initially a WW2 history nut, but somehow found my way into the early modern period. I started my infatuation with the early modern era through military developments that grew during that era, but found more interesting facts as I read more. There was wide societal changes and political changes I saw during this time period and that interested me. As I branched out, I saw more and more webs that interacted with each other in terms of history.
The Thirty Years war seemed to me to be a collection of all of these changes and I saw a distinct lack of knowledge about the details of the war in my American education and very few podcasts that focus on said war. So I saw a chance to try to expand peoples knowledge of this era in historical terms and try not to sound like a metaphorical wall with wet paint. I have read enough dry history books in my life. So I hope you find entertainment in this podcast!
